June 24, 2025 – Two Black Bear cubs (brown coloration is 25-2459 & black coloration is 25-2460) that were recently captured by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) near Emerald Bay, CA have been transported to our facility and are now under our care.
At this time, the cubs appear to be in good health, are adjusting well to their rehabilitation enclosure, and are eating and playing—important indicators of well-being. They will receive full health evaluations in the near future as part of their ongoing care.
Our goal is always to give wild animals a second chance at life in the wild which includes doing all we can to keep them wild. These cubs will remain with us throughout their rehabilitation journey, with the hope that they can be released back into their natural habitat next spring.
