Gold Country Wildlife Rescue is now accepting applications for our Spring/Summer 2026 Operations Internship, a hands-on learning opportunity for students and emerging professionals age 18 and older who are interested in wildlife rescue and rehabilitation. This intensive program is designed to help participants gain real-world work experience, develop practical skills and knowledge, build their resumes, and earn college credit where applicable.
Spring through early fall is our busiest season, when thousands of orphaned and injured young animals arrive in our care. Operations Interns work alongside GCWR Wildlife Technicians at our Wildlife Intake Center, learning the daily operations of a wildlife rehabilitation facility while supporting the care of native wildlife recovering and preparing for release.
Because placements are limited and the program requires a strong commitment, the application process is competitive. Interested individuals are encouraged to apply early.
