We rely completely on donations from the public in order to provide life-saving care to injured and orphaned wildlife.

Volunteers are our greatest asset. Our biggest volunteer need as at our intake center, working directly with animals.
GCWR does dozens of community outreach events in many cities across Placer County. From weekend festivals to work events to inside of classrooms with children, we love educating the public about wildlife.
“It is fortunate that there are volunteers and organizations sensitive to the importance and vulnerabilities of wildlife and focused on not only repairing injuries one victim at a time – but also educating a less sensitive public at large about the importance of protecting all living things – not just humans. Thank you GCWR for your efforts on behalf of distressed and vulnerable wildlife!”
“I’m so grateful to Gold Country Wildlife Rescue and your employees and volunteers! We literally had no where to take a baby finch that had fallen out of the nest… and you guys are the only ones open on the weekend. So thank you for all that you do for our local wildlife and the community!”
“This is the second time I have called upon this rescue for help. This time a baby duckling was wobbling around at our place of work. We were broken hearted when the duckling could no longer support its weight. Gold Country gave us great news today that it is just inflamation and the duckling will be fine! What a GREAT bunch of animal lovers.”
